Dr. Krishnadev holds BS in Mechanical Engineering from University of Mysore in India, and MS and Ph.D. in Metallurgy from University of Saskatchewan. He taught for nearly 30 years at Laval University in Quebec, Canada before moving to Toronto. He still holds the position of Associate Professor at Laval University, and is also an adjunct professor at the University of Toronto. He is a practicing professional engineer.

He is president of Kris Materials, Inc which seeks to enhance productivity of companies in the area of automotive, mass and energy transportation sectors thorough improvements in manufacturing and materials technology. He has been actively involved in collaborative R & D projects with North American, European and Indian companies. This collaboration has led to the development advanced strong, tough, weldable HSLA steels and matching welding consumables and ultra high strength steels. It has also led to the improved dies and tooling practice by blending advances in alloy steels with advances in surface engineering technology. His main expertise is in the area of structure- processing- property relations in advanced high strength steels (structural and die) and weldments. His expertise also covers fracture mechanics, mechanical testing, metallography, failure analysis and prevention, and surface engineering. He has published over 100 papers and holds two patents. 

He is a consultant to many companies in North America and has helped them improve productivity and competitiveness. He has traveled widely and has collaborated with industries on a national and international level.
