Expertise: Open Die Forging, Steel Making and Manufacturing Productivity Improvement.

Leonard Liuzzi established the consulting company, L & L Associates in 1991 to provide metallurgical consulting services for the steel making and forging industries.

Prior to that he was the Vice President and General Manager of the U.S. Metal Sources subsidiary Composites Forgings Limited. Composite is a custom job shop that provides open die forgings, heat treatment, and machining services. He was also the Executive Vice President at Ellwood City Forge for six years. Ellwood City Forge is a fully integrated forging manufacturer with melting, forging, heat treating, and machining capabilities.

For 26 years Len was with the Department of Defense at Benet's Weapons Laboratory at Watervliet Arsenal in Watervliet, N.Y. There he worked in many aspects of heavy manufacturing including the development of processes for precision radial open die forging (GFM Process).

In addition to technical support for forging and manufacturing processes, Len will assist with reorganization studies for productivity and quality improvement and will conduct market surveys and due diligence studies where acquisition is to be considered.

Len has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts in Electro-Mechanical Engineering. He also has a Master of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
